A Day of Fun and Discovery at Deer Park: Seeyahi Foundation’s Outing for Kids

There’s nothing quite like a day spent outdoors, surrounded by nature, laughter, and friends. This past weekend, Seeyahi Foundation organized a fun-filled outing for children at the scenic Deer Park, where our young participants experienced a day of joy, learning, and connection with nature.

The day began with bright smiles and excited chatter as our group gathered at the entrance. For many of the kids, this was their first time visiting a park so expansive and lush. The scent of fresh grass, the sight of the tall trees swaying, and the gentle chirping of birds set the perfect backdrop for an exciting day.

The Highlights of the Day

  1. Nature Walk and Wildlife Spotting
Led by a guide, we started with a gentle nature walk along the park’s trails. The children were fascinated by the towering trees, colorful flowers, and, of course, the graceful deer roaming freely. Binoculars in hand, they observed these majestic animals up close, learning about their habitat, diet, and role in the ecosystem. Spotting a peacock fanning its feathers was another memorable moment!
  2. Interactive Storytelling by the Lake
A tranquil lake sits at the heart of Deer Park, and this serene spot was the perfect setting for our interactive storytelling session. The children gathered on picnic mats, listening intently as volunteers brought stories to life. The tales—often with lessons about kindness, resilience, and respecting nature—engaged the kids and encouraged them to ask questions and share their own thoughts. It was heartwarming to see them immerse themselves so wholeheartedly.
  3. Art Corner and Craft Workshop
A shaded area became our Art Corner, where the children could explore their creativity with colors, paints, and craft supplies. Inspired by what they had seen on the nature walk, many created drawings of deer, birds, and trees. Others made leaf prints or used clay to mold tiny animals. This hands-on activity was a wonderful way for them to express themselves and take a piece of the day home.
  4. Fun and Games
What’s an outing without a few games? Our volunteers organized team activities like tug-of-war, sack races, and a treasure hunt that took the kids exploring all over the park. Their enthusiasm and laughter echoed across the fields, filling everyone’s hearts with joy. These games also helped the children bond, build teamwork, and practice healthy competition in a supportive environment.
  5. Picnic Lunch with a Healthy Twist
After an energetic morning, we sat down for a delicious, nutritious picnic lunch. Our focus was on wholesome foods that fueled the kids for the rest of the day. As they enjoyed their meal, the children shared stories about their favorite part of the morning, which sparked laughter and more excitement.

Reflections and Lessons Learned

As the day came to a close, we gathered once more to reflect on our experiences. Each child shared something new they had learned or a favorite moment from the outing. For many, it was their first real opportunity to see wildlife in a natural habitat, and they left with a greater appreciation for nature and its beauty.
